R. Snead Refuse – Trash Guidelines
Trash cans can only contain Residential Waste
Residential waste includes lawn waste (e.g.: grass clippings, twigs and small limbs) as long as the lawn waste is contained in a common, biodegradable lawn bag
- All household waste must be bagged in trash bags no smaller than 4-gallon bags (this includes pet excrement bags) and placed in the can(s)
- Loose bags placed on the ground next to the can(s) may not be collected
- Can lids may remain open or unsecured after servicing
Yard Waste Guidelines
- Yard waste will be collected as space allows on the truck
- Limbs and brush must be no larger than 3 feet in length and 4 inches in diameter
- Bundle limbs and brush with rope or twine, where the bundle is no longer than 2 feet in diameter
- Weight limit for yard debris is 35 pounds per bag or bundle
Unacceptable Household Waste
- Landscaping debris (e.g.: rocks, dirt, sod, tree stumps, mulch, timbers, etc.)
- Constructions and remodeling debris (e.g.: bricks, tile, drywall, etc.)
- Appliances, major electronics, computers, fluorescent bulbs
- Furniture, mattresses, area rugs, carpet, lamps, etc.
- Hazardous waste (e.g.: wet paint, automotive fluids, petroleum products, tires, flammable products, rechargeable batteries, pool chemicals, propane tanks, etc.)
- Prescription or expired medications
- Bio-hazardous material: needles, dead animals, unbagged fecal waste, etc.
